Our first visit to Shawnee. The base as of early Jan 09 was ice with blown snow cover. By mid day is was easier to find ice than powder. That should change as more snow falls.

Great family hill with slopes and chair lift for beginners. Great drop off area, close by parking and friendly staff made skiing Shawnee an enjoyable experience. We never made it to the top of the mountain due to experience level and found enough variety in terrain to ski the day without getting bored.

Great alternative to larger more expensive and further away ski destinations.
