Saddleback Inc.

Saddleback Ski Area opened in 1960. Saddleback features the most extensive beginner terrain in the northeast, with four miles of gentle sloping trails that are found below the base lodge and away from the rest of the mountain. Their ski and snowboard school boasts the lowest student to instructor ratio in North America. In addition to their beginner services, Saddleback has a top notch and unique base lodge, affordable skiing and riding and all of Saddleback's mountain lodging has ski-in/ski-out access.

Hidden gem!

Pros: Family friendly, not crowded, nice employees, great trails
Cons: Far to get to, no shuttle bus from town to the mountain

amazingl - sugarloaf without the crowds

Pros: terrain, glades, beginner area, new quads, Kennebago Steeps!
Cons: main lift is fine but sometimes has a line

Great terrain + best value out there!

Pros: variety, quality trails, great snow, very reasonable price!
Cons: a little further away, main lift perfectly adequate but could be faster
