Went to the area with the intention to ski Sugarloaf - a local told us to try Saddleback first. We did, loved it, and never bothered with Sugarloaf. This is a great ski mountain - terrain is nicely divided with areas for experts, long intermediate cruising, and a great beginner area below the base lodge. While the lifts serving the main mountain are not the latest, you never have to wait and the Berry familiy is working to expand and update. I expect great things in the next few years. Great lodge, great ski school, friendly staff, inexpensive tickets - overall a great skiing value. Not too much apres ski at the mountain itself (although more is coming as they build out the village) but it is very close to Rangeley where there are plenty of nice restaurants, bars, shops, etc.
