Les Aravis: 220KM Pistes: Unspoilt French Villages
The Aravis Ski Area is home to 220 kilometres of pistes and four ski resorts: La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand, Manigod, and Saint Jean de Sixt.
The 158 pistes (42 green runs, 59 blue, 46 red, and 11 black) reach a maximum height of 2600 metres. The area is also home to three snowparks and 150 kilometres of cross-country trails, including the Confins Plateau - an official World Cup site.

The traditional Savoyard village of La Clusaz (1100 metres) is the largest resort in the Aravis Ski Area. La Clusaz's local slopes cater to all levels of skier and snowboarder. Its unspoilt town centre offers a lively après-ski scene with plenty of bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and weekly town events. The village shops specialise in local delicacies, including cheese, meats, and wines.
Six kilometres from La Clusaz is the village of Le Grand Bornand (950 metres). Its local slopes are particularly well suited to intermediates. The village is centred round its old town which offers a lively après ski scene with everything from relaxed family restaurants to late-night bars and nightclubs.

Manigod (1480 metres) is the highest resort in the Aravis Ski Area. It's known for its reliable snowfall and excellent ski school ‘l'Ecole du Ski Francais'. Local slopes are ideal for beginners and intermediates. The resort is also highly rated by snowboarders for its snowpark. The centre isn't as developed as Le Grand Bornand or La Clusaz, but there are a few traditional shops.
The village of St-Jean de Sixt (960 metres) is the smallest resort in the Aravis Ski Area. It is made up of a collection of chalets and small hotels. Its local slopes are served by two drag lifts, but for more challenging ski drive up to neighbouring La Clusaz or Le Grand-Bornand.
Six airports are situated within two hours' drive of the Aravis Ski Area including Geneva, Chambery, Grenoble, and Lyon; the closest is Geneva Airport, just one hour away.
