Diamond Peak was just gorgeous in late February. There were powder stashes, nicely groomed runs, and quick lifts. The only complaint I had was the walk from the car. They have a looooong parking lot, but they also have a tram that comes around every five minutes to pick people up. Very convenient. It was a sunny day, but there was so much snow that I snowboarded all the way down to my car. The views at Diamond Peak are the best in Tahoe. They have some great jumps and jibs in the terrain park good for intermediate - advanced - pro, but there were a few ski competitions going on so it was hard to access the park. The service at Diamond Peak is A+ because of friendly and knowledgeable staff. There was a fair share of snow bunnies on the hill, there were a lot of younger people, there were families, and a even mix skiers and snowboarders. This isn't the most challenging place in terms of challenging black diamond runs, but there are some really fun steeps. For anyone up to hike, check out Solitude Canyon: It's a SHORT hike to some powder, but be ready to traverse and weave through some brush and lots of trees. This is a great beginner mountain, but my friend and I had a great time on a powdery day.
