Alpine Meadows

Alpine Meadows is located on the Northwest shore of Lake Tahoe in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Skiers and snowboarders at Alpine Meadows have access to 2,400 skiable acres, over 100 trails, 1,802 vertical feet and 450 inches of annual snowfall. Alpine Meadows consists of two peaks, Ward and Scott Peak, seven alpine bowls (Alpine, Estelle, Beaver, Wolverine, Sun Bowl, Big Bend Bowl and S.P. Bowl), all accessed by 13 lifts. Alpine Meadows also offers skiers and riders complimentary shuttle service to lodges and neighborhoods across Lake Tahoe, an array of youth and adult ski & snowboard programs, a variety of Mountain Resort Dining and impeccable Guest Services.

    Wow!

    Pros: Sweet terrain, nice runs, more natural terrain
    Cons: Middle of mountain can get crowded, some lifts slow

    Less crowded than other Tahoe ski areas

    Pros: Not crowded, Fun terrain, Fast lifts
    Cons: None, if you're into undeveloped ski area

    All around average mountain

    Pros: Fast lifts; good mix of difficulty of runs
