Risoul and Vars, the sister resorts found in the south east of France, share a network of larch forests which in turn are surrounded by an array of stunning mountain peaks. This perfect partnership is a union that satisfies hungry skiers eager for wide, fast ski runs and who are ready to do battle with the mountain. La Foret Blanche (White Forest) Ski Area:
A promising name to illustrate one of the most beautiful ski areas in the Southern French Alps. Pick up a map and find better! The pleasure of floating on skis or on a snowboard in the often abundant snow is a simply amazing feeling. Pure poetry. The facts are there, the cold and dry climate preserves the quality of the snowpack; the snowfalls are short but heavy and leave plenty of time for enjoying the blue sky days.

Maximum waiting time: 5 minutes!
With recent improvements on the ski lift network, the waiting times across the mountain have been greatly reduced. The queues in Risoul have been reduced so much that even in the peak February season waiting times shouldn’t be more than a mere 10 minutes. This has helped to reduce queuing of the past and to optimise the filling of seats at all times. Adopting this system from the United States and Canada has, against all odds, done wonders!

52 lifts help you to discover the 185 km (110 tracks) of safe groomed ski runs (19 green, 46 blue, 35 red, 10 black) found in the Forêt Blanche ski area.
The 32 lifts, 18 chair lifts, 1 cable car and 1 gondola allow skiers to access all parts of the ski area, including the Slalom Stadium and off-piste areas.
