Krynica Zdrój is a Heath-resort situated In south-west part of Lesser Poland Province. It has over 12 000 citizens and it is famous sports and touristic centre. A lot of competitions in many sport disciplines , like hokey and sledging took place there. Krynica Zdrój is one of the most interesting places In Lesser Poland as far as winter sports are concerned. The biggest ski stations are Jaworzyna Krynicka, Słotwiny and Czarny Potok. All in all, in Krynica and neighborhood there are several dozens of ski routes with all different levels of difficulty. Next to the lifts there is everything that skiers and snowboarders need: ski equipment rentals, ski schools, gastronomic bases and huge car parks. Some of ski routes are illuminated and snowed. There was also a gondola lift with big throughput built there. Being in Krynica you can use services offered in Heath resorts and pump rooms. Many buildings in which are sanatoriums are monuments. Touristic base in Krynica is very developed. In the offer there is accommodation in health houses, hotels, guest houses, and guest rooms. In the town there are a lot of gastronomic bases of different types. To get to Krynica you have to first get to Nowy Sącz, in which you have to choose one of two routes: better and longer way nr 87/971, through Piwniczna-Zdrój or shorter, but a little bit worse maintained route nr 75/981, through Nowa Wieś. Buses and trains go to Krynica from majority of Polish cities.
