The Jura is a mid-mountain range and a mecca for cross-country skiing. The numerous villages remain completely authentic allowing visitors to enjoy another aspect of their visit, namely the discovery of this charming region.

Famous for its legendary "Transjurassienne" competition which is mostly reserved for high-level athletes, the Jura offers Nordic ski enthusiasts one of the best and most beautiful areas in France, with more than 2500 kilometres of ski trails. It is ideal for those who enjoy tranquillity and serenity.

Those who prefer downhill skiing will be in their element in Métabief, in Les Rousses or on the Mont Jura. These resorts have all invested heavily in their infrastructure, guaranteeing the on-going enjoyment of skiing.

The Rousses resort in the heart of the regional national park of the Haut-Jura is made up of four villages: Les Rousses, Prémanon, Lamoura and Bois d'Amont. The Jura mountain range borders with Switzerland to the east and the skiable terrain ranges from 1120 to 1680m. The area counts 60 marked ski slopes, not including the Nordic ski area and its 220 kilometres of cross-country skiing tracks.

In the south of the Jura Range visitors can find the resort of Mont Jura, hidden in the Valserine valley. Skiers of all kinds are welcome, from beginner to free rider, of course not forgetting families. Mont Jura offers almost 50 kilometres of ski runs and 120 kilometres of cross country skiing routes.

Finally in the north of the Jura range lies Métabief, renowned for its breath-taking panoramic views. 26 ski runs make up 40 km of downhill alpine skiing and over 270 km of Nordic trails are available.
