Jungfrau - On The Rooftop Of The World -
Yes, the Schilthorn and other parts of the region were made famous in the James Bond film "His Majesty's Secret Service." The region is also home to the Eiger, one of the most difficult and demanding peaks in the Alps that has long lured mountain climbers to its knife-edge summit.
Ski and snowboard areas in the Jungfrau include Grindelwald, Interlaken, and Wengen-Muerren-Lauterbrunnental.

Grindelwald is among one of Europe's oldest mountain resorts. The valley is in the beautiful Bernese Oberland on the northern side of the Alps. Grindelwald is surrounded by the spectacular mountains of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.
The high mountains are a virtual playground for skiers and mountaineers, while the woods between the Grosse and Kleine Scheidegg ridges are perfectly suited to cross-country skiing.

Grindelwald, located at just over 1,000m, has access to three distinct ski areas. Grindelwald First, the main ski area, is just above town, consisting of primarily beginner slopes; Mannlichen plenty of intermediate terrain; and the Kleine Scheidegg, with shared access to Wengen and its famous World Cup downhill course.
Grindelwald is a glacier village and is the only major mountain resort in the Jungfrau which can be reached by car, 157 km from Zurich.
Wengen lays claim to all the terrain in the region and all the uphill conveyances. Interlaken, 10 miles away between two stunning alpine lakes, claims the very same 212 km of prepared slopes, 42 lifts, and nearly a 1.6 km vertical.
The Jungfrau Region trains run from Interlaken, a town and resort in its own right, and connects directly to any of the ski areas in the region.
