Right away I noticed that Tamarack is nice. It has nice new lifts. I had a 5 dollar Corona at one of the so called bars on the mountain. The snow on the Mountain that day was really good; 12 inches of new pow. I looked at the map and saw their double black diamond area over in the area of "After You" or something like that. I was excited to have some sort of a challenge. Nope not here. They definitely overrate their runs, and as soon as you think you are having an excellent time, the mountain peters out. The elevation of the lower portion is not high enough to sustain good snow conditions that often. The park was almost as good a Schweitzer's, but pretty darn good in comparison to Brundage. Overall the mountain does not ski that well, but if you are learning, it is a good place. It has a ritzy feel. This was during the 05-06 season. Hopefully they have opened up more terrain since then. I heard that if you ski off the backside or somewhere out of bounds that they will pick you up if you call them.
East Caosters, Park Rats, and Movie Stars will be pleased, but will enjoy it much more when the road is better.
