Fresh Snow - Varied Terrain - Great Chair Lifts - Quality Grroming on Cruisers
Snow Ghost Chair is slow and needs to be replaced to access that area
We have skied at Schweitzer Mountain Resort for years located in the Idaho Panhandle just outside of Sandpoint. This year we made five trips to ski on Mid-Week Season Passes which were a terrific bargain. Out of the five visits we received fresh snow four out of five times (80%) with several trips getting 16" of powder in 72 hours. We enjoy the front bowls accessible via the new Basin Express - Quad and the Lakeview - Triple which gives a nice selection of terrain from Intermediate to Expert runs. The Front / Back Side access are served by Great Escape - Quad and Stella - Six Pack as well as an older lift Snow Ghost which accesses a generous amount of protected terrain much of which has great tree skiing. The overall feel of this 3,300 acre ski resort is oriented to a skier friendly environment where the accomodations are comfortable and relaxing for the next day of prime ski conditions. The White Pine Lodge is a five story condominium and the Selkirk Lodge is a full service hotel lodge with restaurant and bar with exceedingly friendly & helpful staff. Both facilities have underground parking garages with elevators for easy check-in & check-out. The views are panoramic with wonderful looks at the impressive slopes or beautiful - picturesque Pend O'Reille Lake. We stayed and played with the weather being variable and cold while being excellent for snow quality. The settled base was approaching 120" when we skied our last day under azure skies and sunny conditions. This is a must visit ski resort - my recommendations are without doubt - 110% proof positive that Schweitzer Mountain Resort is an undiscovered gem in the Gem State. Check ist out online. Cheers!!!
