Blafjoll is quite a big ski area that was easy top reach from Reykjavik although the roads can be hard going with no hard surface.

There are modern ski lifts including some of the few chairlifts in the country accessing a good variety of terrain. I just went for a few hours whilst i was on a short trip to Iceland and it was great to find a good ski centre with quite long runs and no lift lines.
