The Harz is the highest mountain range in Northern Germany and many ski tourists can reach the Harz faster than the alpine regions in the South. The highest elevation in the low mountain range is the Brocken with an altitude of 1141 m.

There are several possibilities you can choose of if you come to the Harz to ski. Ski areas like Altenau, Bocksberg, Braunlage Wurmberg offer several pistes for skiers and a fun park for snowboarders. The Harz is famous for it’s spacious net of cross-country ski runs, the beautiful winter trails in an impressive landscape and for events like the Christmas markets.
