This was a repeat trip to Crested Butte. We usually try to go in early January, but work this year did not permit that for me or my wife, so we settled on an earlier trip in December. We were not disappointed! Obviously none of the double blacks were open but we enjoyed the long cruisers (i.e. International, Paradise, etc) nonetheless. What really stuck out in our minds this time was the food, both in the Town of Mt. Crested Butte and Crested Butte. We did not have a single bad meal while we were there and the atmosphere in some of the restaurants and bars in town made for a really fun couple of days.
We hope we can make it back sometime later this season when more is open. My wife wants to give the Headwall a shot at some point this season or next. As always, I recommend Crested Butte to everyone. The town alone is worth visiting, the mountain makes it one of the greatest places on the planet.
