Haute Nendaz is situated at 1500m on a sunny plateau high above the Rhone Valley. It is a 90 min drive by car or train ride from Geneva Airport, or 30 min from Sion Airport. It is a compact small town with a fair amount of restaurants & bars and few nightclubs. It isn't a big party town but it is very pleasant and down to earth place to be, not at all posh. The resort is very family friendly and welcoming to tourists. The Cabane Restaurant for example is a great place to eat raclette or fondue.
It is a good base from which to access the Verbier sector and the rest of 4 Vallées - if the Prarion connection is shut the free ski bus to Siviez takes about 15 minutes. The Telecabine is large for the village and queues are rare. The town is well-cared for and the snowploughs clear all roads by early morning each day in the winter. The Migros supermarket has great fresh produce; there are a few smaller supermarkets higher up in the village. It has everything you come to expect from a big resurt but the prices are significantly less than Verbier. It has a Couple of hotels and lots of self-catering apartments. Chalets are available on the upper side of the village round the Telecabine and on the way to Siviez.
