Reral town feel, less 'resorty' great slopes either side of the valley.
Further from Sella Ronda

Full review

Ortisei is not as well known to the wider world as Selva but it does have a great location in the heart of Val Gardena and i liked it a lot as it has a character beyond the ski industry, as it's the kind of main adnmin and retail hub of the Valley. You can ski out of either side of the place up either side of the valley so you have a choice each morning as to which side looks better. Our accommodation gave us acess straight to the lifts but that would be something to be careful of as you can have a bit of a walk if you're not careful. There's a good choice of terrain whichever side you opt for and in the evening a nmice nmix of pubs and restaurants with fewer international guests than Selva, which I kind of liked! Prices seemed a bit better too.
