Cheap apres ski, long season with good snow due to altitude
Far away from everywhere

Full review

Livigno is spread for miles along a valley road and I was quite amazed when I first saw it to see dozens and then hundreds of small shops, one after the next, all selling alcohol or perfume or electrics. Prices were very low for apres skiing, so we had a good time with a vast choice of bars. The ski runs are generally, fast, wide and sunny, up abopve the tree line. We had a nice apartment but had to get the ski bus which was irregiular and crowded to reach the base of the lifts so think if I went back I'd make sure I stayed within walking distance of the lift. The only other downsidewas very long transfers from Zurich airport to get to Livigno. Don't think any other major airports are muich closer either.
