It's understandable that not everyone would not get the concept of Silverton. As a Local I get a chance to ski unguided early and late season every year since its been open. Were lucky. Silverton isnt a resort - there arent lifts there is lift. Hiking is required to ski - You need to earn your turn at silverton. Avy gear is required because you will be in the must susceptible unstable dangerous avalanche conditions in the country and maybe the world. Dont boast here that you have avalanche level 3 cert - its not true. You dont. If you like comfort thats fine - please go to deer park or aspen or even T ride. Trust me there is no terrain more steep, unstable and varaible than Silverton. You will get knocked around if you dont know how to ski in the back country and you will be jello if your fat and lazy. Silverton is a cocept true locals and knowledable BC users appreciate. If your looking for more than go somewhere else.... please.
