Has few very nice areas
Pain to navigate. Spotty snow conditions
It's not that the Canyons is terrible. It's that there are two better resorts up the road and several much better resorts a canyon or two over. All have better elevations and better snow quality; especially in spring when many runs at the Canyons never thaw and corn-up due to lack of sun exposure and become nice sheets of ice.
The place is also a nightmare to navigate be it the hike to the gondola or the endless miles of cat-tracks needed to get around the place.
That being said there are some nice areas of the resort. The Dreamscape area is a blast. It's usually fairly uncrowded and has a good mix of runs. The other is 99-90; a true joy to ski with fresh snow (I'd avoid w/out fresh snow if in a freeze-thaw cycle).
