I love skiing Sauze D'Oulx. The runs remind me a lot more of American resorts than most places I've been to in Europe because most of the runs are in the trees rather than pistes cut on wide open treeless slopes. This also makes it a fun pick in the Milky Way on a windy or snowy day. It has a pretty good lift system and a fun town to hang out in. It is all the way to the east side of the Milky Way complex so that exploring to the opposite end would require some serious thinking if you don't want to get caught in another town when the lifts shut down. However, the skiing is such that you might not want to leave. Its definitely not as chic as Sestriere, but very lively in a more easy-going way.
