After this resort was ranked 9th by Business in Vancouver among WA & BC resorts, we decided to check this resort off our list...and besides, who could resist this baby after the NY Times recently featured a ground-breaking article on the out-of-bounds back-country behind Stevens Pass called: "Snow Fall: The Avalanche at Tunnel Creek". It should be made clear that 2012's deadly avalanche occurred in an area clearly out-of-bounds.

There is good variety at Stevens Pass: the ticket reader system and organization at the hill minimized the copious crowds up for this weekend day. The snow was good - there were plenty of challenging blacks, and the backside was interesting and fun. Note to self: stick to the backside and 7th-heaven to avoid novices.

Despite some long flats, and though the hill suffers from the blight of a typical suburban ski-outlet, there is enough here to make the day worthwhile. Overall, this resorts ranks at 16th place of the 32 resorts visited to date. In a word: average (but in a good way)!

NOTE: there is no significant accommodation at the hill, unless one brings their own camper!
