Soemtimes it seems Massanutten maintains a ski area for no othere reason than sell time shares to people who will never really learn to ski or ride. That being said, it can be an OK experience, especially if you don't come on Saturday. To get to the good trails, you have to wait in line for a long time to ride a nearly level chairlift that moves at a snails pace and is stopped every two minutes when a beginner falls loading or unloading. The good news: you can mitigate almost all of this by coming mid-week and the trails are really pretty decent. The park is hit or miss, it has not been consistently good for the past 5 seasons. If you do go on the weekends, eat your lunch at the Mid-Mountain grill which is at the base of the steep trails. The price are half of what the the main lodge charges and it benefits the ski and snowboard team.
