Excellent place to ski. Definitely up there if not better than the Cottonwood Canyon resorts. Has the vertical on both Strawberry Gondola and John Paul lifts. Gondolas, lodges, and general facilities are better than anything in the USA/Canada that we have experienced.
Terrain has all sorts of steeps, chutes especially off the John Paul Chair. Off the Strawberry Express Gondola, one gets cruisers, and extreme terrain in the WFO area. Needles in the middle is perfect for warm-ups, and has access to tough terrain, and the lodge on top is awesome. The vertical allows for good long continuous skiing with minimal cat track travel. The Men's and Women's Downhills are just sheer exhilaration, note pretty steep at the top for sure and even lower down but if groomed perfect for the confident intermediate. Lots of backcountry powder experiences available in the right conditions off John Paul and Strawberry.
The lodges really are a place a billionaire can call home so ordinary ski-snowboarders can really relax in a clean environment with great food.
Good place to take kids, crowd intensity was low even though we were there on Holiday weekend.
Just a superb spot. No on-mountain lodging though, but Lakeside Resorts at Huntsville is pretty convenient. Close to SLC, due North towards Ogden.
