Cheap, Close to home
Small, no variety, outdated infrastructure, icy conditions
This place isn't worth traveling long distances for, but does definitely does fill a need. Its a decent place to learn or go for a quick ski/snowboard fix. You can get lift tickets for as cheap as $10. A decent place to drop off older kids for the afternoon. The row tow on the bunny hill is very quick for new skiers/snowboarders. Basically there is one hill made out of a landfill. There is an interesting run that wraps around the back of the hill and empties into bunny hill. They have two chairlifts, but I have only seen one running. The snack bar is kind of gross and needs to be remodeled badly. The 'kids' working at the snack bar couldn't be less interested in really serving customers. The bar on the third level is okay to hang out in and the bartenders are pleasant. There are no lockers or places to put your gear so don't bring a bunch of stuff into the "chalet/golf pro shop. They do rent some equipment but do not rent helmets, which I can't believe! I mean not offering the option of a helmet for a child learning is downright stupid. The lift shelter is shabby looking and needs repairs. Not much of a terrain park. They should make a premier terrain park on one side of the hill to attract more people, but you get the feel that Olympia Resort is kind of on a shoestring budget as far as the hill goes.
