Full review

I am your everyday park snowboarder, I love to ride in the terrain park, thru the trees and in the powder. I'm not some grumpy boarder that hates everyone that ski's. So, I rode at Heavenly on Dec 30th-31st and here are my thoughts. First for the good: When there is powder it is AMAZING, Heavenly has the best tree runs I have ever done. Because of the high elevation of the MTN it gets cold, very cold. If there is powder the cold temps drys out the snow and makes the powder last, and with a huge resort, the powder may sit unridden for a while. The downhill is really good, making for good speed runs. The Nightlife is nice, just go down the Gondola you're right in the middle of South Lake Tahoe, Near alot of hotels (wich makes for a good fast way to get up to the slopes) Lots And Lots of lodges, really nice to have a place get a drink, go to the restroom or just relax, almost always in your area almost anywhere on the slopes. The staff is friendly and helpful. The Views are amazing. Now, For the bad: The lift system really sucks, there is one way to the Nevada side from the California side, to do so from the California lodge you have to ride one lift, up another walk a long way, then ride up the final lift that only gives one trail to ride to get down to the other trails. Sinse thats the only trail that brings you to Nevada from California its CROWDED, no turning room on the thin trail, its all very frustrating. The High elevation also makes for bad things, High winds all the time (even when there is sopposed to be none) It makes the cold temps feel worse with the wind chill. The catwalks really suck, so many flat spots in the trails, I was going quite fast thru most of the flat spots and I had to walk a couple of times. Dont skier's get annoyed of pushing themselvs thru flatspots? The In Between's: The terrain parks, there well setup but sinse thats the "snowboarder thing to do" therye very crowded, but well setup. The Moguls, On almost every diamond and double diamond that is groomed, Horrible for snowboarders, Amazing for skiers (thats what I hear anyway) My thoughts on Heavenly, pritty much add up to the perfect skier's resort. If you snowboard, just go to Northstar (if you like Park)
