Brian Head is only about 2 1/2 - 3 hours from Las Vegas, and it's really a fun place to visit. I have only been skiing for two years, so I am a Beginner / Low Intermediate skiier. The trails at Brian Head are perfect for me. There are a number of Beginner trails that are quite long, so they give you an opportunity to put in some good ski time before having to jump back on a lift, especially at Navajo Peak. These particular trails are not difficult, but you can build up some solid speed, so if that's what you are working on, that's an awesome part of the resort to hang out at. The other side of the resort offers more challenging trails for skiiers of all experience levels. The lodge has everything you need in the way of rentals, pro shop, food, and of course a shop for all your gear needs. There are some great places to stay nearby, or you can even stay in Cedar City without it being too inconvenient. I prefer staying near the resort. We have stayed at Cedar Breaks before and were very comfortable there. The staff was excellent, and we were very happy with the steakhouse / restaurant. There is not much in the way of nightlife at Brian Head, but after a long day of skiing, sometimes you do just want to eat and chill, so you'll be ready for the next day. Brian Head is a perfect weekend getaway destination, and good for longer trips also. It's definitely a family-friendly resort and a romantic place for couples as well.
