It's a charming place. snow was horrible---not their fault. However, here is their marketing: 100% open (only resort in Vermont), solid base. Well, first of all: solid base?? Not a patch of snow in the village, part of the mountain braun and green. Yes, they don't seem to close trails, even when 50% are completely unsikable (and I am a pros---no joke), half of the lifts didn't run during the week (wind hold, mechanical problems, no reason...magically everything was fixed by the weekend, apart from the prices, those are the same regardeless...hum...). Grooming?? seems to be done for weekend business mainly.
Bottom line: no matter what kind of skiing you are looking for, you won't find it there (free style pros or beginner). True, this could be the best place in Vermont. What they need to learn: be honest about your conditions, be fair about your pricing. If you only care about/can afford to cater to weekend skiers, fine---just say that. Don't pretend you are a serious ski resort just to get our $$. Afterall, there are a lot of us in this for the sport, without the money and the mascara. In the end, we are the guys who support your place, maybe not always with our unlimited budget, but certainly with our passion and spirit.
Maybe you don't need to care...but you DID absolutely make me mad. And I was there skiing, living, shopping for 8 days in a row. Sorry dudes, will try a diffrent place next time!!!
