2016/2017 Nordica Santa Ana 100 ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s All-Mountain Back Category and awarded it an Editors’ Choice honor.

“This ski is like a Clydesdale: stable, trustworthy and steadfast,” says Rodman of the Nordica Santa Ana 100. As an Editors’ Choice winner with the second highest average score in the category, flotation and stability were standouts among tester totals, with all other criteria receiving similarly high averages. The 100-mm-waisted freeski features Nordica’s Hammer Head Nose (picture the blunt nose of a hammerhead shark), with tip and tail rocker. The full sidewall construction includes a balsa core, with multiple thin balsa wood stringers side by side, plus a layer for carbon—a core blend designed for weigh reduction and edge grip. “If I could describe these skis with emojis, it would be ‘fireworks,’ ‘skier girl,’ ‘smiley face’ and ‘champagne’” says Riley.
