2016/2017 Nordica Santa Ana 93 ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s All-Mountain Front Category.

“Favors off-piste, but this ski can carve it up on your way back to the lift,” says Rodman of the Nordica Santa Ana 93. The Santa Ana is part of the storm-inspired women’s freeski collection (including the 113-mm-waisted La Niña and 100-mm-waisted Santa Ana). They all feature Nordica’s Hammer Head Nose (think of the blunt nose of a Hammer Head shark), with tip and tail rocker. Testers gave the Santa Ana 93 highest marks for float, rating it less favorably for carving and playfulness. Construction includes a Balsa Core—multiple thin balsa wood stringers designed for weigh reduction and increased edge grip. “Aside from tip chatter on steeps, this is a quick, agile and maneuverable all-mountain ski,” says Riley.
