As the new Sean Pettitt pro model, the Pettitor caters to the big mountain experience: powder, air and landings. As the stiffest ski in K2's Factory Team series, it's designed for high-speed stability. Testers, however, scored it highest in the playfulness category. "This ski is a jungle gym with a slide," said Sutton. "Makes you want to go bigger." The 120-mm-waisted twin tip has K2's Powder Rocker, a 50/50 split of rocker and camber. Extremely elevated tips surf soft snow but the camber underfoot helps to maneuver through tight trees. A fir and aspen wood core and K2's Twin Tech sidewall-protecting construction makes the ski stiff and stable. "It's not made for hardpack," cautioned Ertl, "but it's effortless in powder and crud."
