A nod to the company's Chamonix heritage, the new Cham series from Dynastar includes three different waist widths (107, 97 and 87) and a unique profile. As the widest of the crew, the Cham 107 has a lightweight wood core and a new soft-snow oriented shape called the Levitation Profile. The Cham 107's dimensions (listed as a five-point sidecut) reflect a progressive tapering in the tip and tail with traditional camber underfoot, designed to smear turns in variable snow and prevent hooking up at speed. "Feels like you get more and more ski as you add speed," said Volckhausen. "Five stars for float and powder performance," said Mahon. "It's like a water ski—the tip cuts through it all."
