Salomon Geisha

The Geisha favors western snow conditions thanks to tip rocker, an early rise tail and a 97 mm waist, but testers say it can hold its own on hardpack. "It makes nice cruising turns and is easy to handle," said Koehn. The core includes wood with both a layer of bamboo and basalt for liveliness without the weight. The edge grip is enhanced by Salomon's Edgy Monocoque construction, which wraps around the edges for efficient energy transmission and works in concert with the shock-resistant wide edges. Sutton said the Geisha is "versatile and full of surprises."
