2015 Scott Black Majic ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its Frontside Category.
The Black Majic was inspired by Scott’s all-mountain-oriented The Ski, which features Scott’s 3Dimension sidecut and includes a tip and tail radius thanks to the sidecut design. “It’s easy to ski but rewards a light touch,” says Witman. Construction includes a sandwich sidewall with two Titanal sheets on the top and bottom. The waist of Black Majic ranges between 75 and 80 mm, according to the length. Though Titanal adds torsional stiffness, testers gave Black Majic its highest scores for versatility and playfulness. “This is the softest and most forgiving ski of the bunch,” says Phillips. “Ice could overwhelm this ski, so keep on the packed powder.”
