2015 K2 AMP Rictor 82 XTI ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its Frontside Category.
K2’s wider skis typically score high marks for playfulness, but according to testers, the AMP Rictor 82 XTI excels elsewhere. “This ski is too serious to be playful, but it’s super stable,” says Attridge. Testers did reward the 82-mm-waisted ski with high scores for carving and stability, citing “a perfect mix of big-radius carving ability and stability,” according to Phillips. Construction includes metal laminate, fiberglass and a wood core in addition to a secondary X-shaped carbon web core with K2’s dampening MOD structure—designed to add torsional rigidity as well as vibration absorption. The profile includes a short, round rockered tip, moderate camber underfoot and a blunt round tail.
