2015 Armada Invictus ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its All-Mountain Back Category.
An all-new, all-mountain ski from Armada, the Invictus shares a similar layup as the ARVti (see review in All-Mountain Front) with a wider waist (106 mm at 178 cm). “This is a big boy that slarves and charges, but it’s unforgiving at low speeds,” says Smid. Both had lower carving scores, whereas the ARVti received its highest scores for stability, and the Invictus accrued high scores for float. AR Nose Rocker adds rocker to the Invictus’ well-endowed tip. Other design specs include a top and bottom layer of Titanal, full sidewall construction, and Armada’s Double Zone Core, made with lightweight wood and ski-length carbon fiber strips. “It’s silky smooth in the crud, but make sure you have plenty of real estate to get around,” says Stoeger.
