"For a fatter ski to carve like this, it feels like cheating," Dittmar said. "Think 'Lord of the Rings: One ski to rule them all.'" The newly revamped Super 7 (part of the 7 Series, which replaces the S Series) features Rossi's new Air Tip technology—a honeycomb design in the tip and tail that reduces core and swing weight. Lightweight paulownia wood reduces the core further. Performance features are not reduced, however, as the Super 7 has sandwich sidewalls and long progressive rocker in the tip and tail. The 116 millimeter-waisted Super 7 scored high marks for versatility and float. "It's like a Swiss Army knife," Kasper quipped. "It floats, it holds an edge, and it only got a little squirrelly at top speed... I'd take it anywhere."
