"This is a charge-the-mountain-hard kind of ski," Stoeger said of the Ritual. "It's as fun in tight trees as it is in wide open bowls." Atomic brings back the All-Mountain Vantage series, which features Backbone Technology, a vertebrae-like strip of titanium integrated into the wood core. Along with Atomic’s Step Down Sidewall construction, the backbone helps to absorb and dampen vibrations while increasing stability and edge grip. Testers noted that the Ritual runs on the stiffer side and gave it high scores for stability. "It's solid underfoot in everything from bumps, powder and groomers, but the real stability is in the tip," Dittmar said. Solid scores ran across the board, including soft snow performance aided by the Ritual’s 103-millimeter waist and generous amount of tip and tail rocker. "This ski is solid underfoot even on hardpack. Just don't take it easy because there's power potential," Witman added.
