The Amphibio Insomnia returns in 2013/2014, bringing back two key technologies that contribute to its unique look and high scores for stability: Elan's Amphibio technology creates a cambered inside edge and a rockered outside edge (and a right and left ski) for better grip and control, while the visible waves in Waveflex absorb vibration. The damp and stable feeling comes from Elan’s RST sidewall construction, a Trulite wood core and one layer of titanium. "Not for lazy skiers," Dumais warned. "But it held a clean line, never bounced and was good at speed. It's a no-frills good carver." "Solid, smooth and easy to edge," Brown Brent echoed. "It's great for an aggressive skier who likes to lay down medium to GS-sized turns."
