Blizzard calls the Bonafide one of the “Core 4” in their popular Free Mountain line and testers responded by giving high marks for both carving and versatility. Just under 100 millimeters underfoot, the Bonafide has sandwich sidewalls, a wood core made from a blend of poplar, bamboo and paulownia plus two-and-a-half layers of titanium. Flipcore 3D technology adds rocker in the molding process instead of bending it in afterwards, and the Bonafide has full rocker with a flat center. Lightweight testers noted that it lacked playfulness, but bigger guys praised the ski’s stability at any speed. “It feels like a muscle car—lots of power but a little stiff and heavy,” Dittmar said. “It’s a great confidence-inspiring ski for a strong, precise skier,” Crawford said. “Ski it aggressively and it’ll destroy choppy snow or cut an edge through firm snow.”
