Salomon QST 92 ski review, 2017/2018 men's All-Mountain Front Category, from our equipment experts at Realskiers.com powered by Masterfit.

If we awarded skis fun-per-dollar medals, Salomon’s QST 92 would definitely be on the podium. The ski's super light weight is instantly evident, helping it feel as quick to the edge as skis in the Frontside Category. Despite its tapered tip, the skier has the sensation of getting to the edge early. The biggest contributor to the QST 92’s fast-twitch response is the lively rebound created when its principal component—a mat made from intertwined carbon and flax fibers—is pressured. The brilliant thing about Salomon's C/FX Superfiber is that it moderates its response according to how it’s treated. Roll gently to the edge and the ski delivers a secure, sedate descent. Amp up the aggression and the QST 92 punches back, releasing energy that fires up the turn transition. Elf from Cal Ski Co. found the QST 92 “Very light and lively, but doubles down at speed. A fun ski, more than I expected.” His cohort, Paul Jacobs, was on the same page: “Lively and more stable than it initially felt. Equally adept at carving and slarving.”
