Wachusett presents the Northeast Throwdown March 29. This ski and snowboard competition is highlighted by a $5,000 cash purse for the Pro division and great prizes from its sponsors in the Am division. Go to wawa.wachusett.com for details. The mountain holds its annual end-of-the-season tradition of pond skimming and barbecue, with live music April 6. Pond skimming entry fee $5. Prizes awarded for Last Person Standing (Men's, Women's, and Kids Under 12); Best Show; Best Costume; and Best Fall/Splash.
