Targhee Wins Approval For Expansion

Three years of battling with county commissioners finally resulted in Grand Targhee winning approval for expansion of the resort's village. The resort is now poised to expand from their current 96 lodging units to 450 units. Resort officials estimate that developing a land-use plan could take up to six months. The plan includes 45 single-family units and 45 cabins or townhomes. The remaining 360 units will be condos, condo-hotels, and employee housing. Real estate opportunities could take 9 to 18 months before they are available for release with Grand Targhee Realty at 208-354-8833. "Generations of families have honed their skiing and riding skills on Fred's and Peaked Mountains for 38 seasons, and we look forward to enhancing the overall experience for our guests with the development of an environmentally, economically and socially sustainable resort," said owner Geordie Gillett.
