Chestnut Mountain, overlooking the mighty Mississippi River from rocky bluffs near Galena, Ill., plans to open for the season Friday, Nov. 30, and offers one of the best early season deals in the Heartland. It's Dollar Days from Dec. 1-14, which means that whatever the date, that's the amount you pay to ski or ride that day.
