I am also from Olympia and had previously been bringing my 7 year old daughter to Crystal to ski. By the end of the day at Crystal, I had spent more than it costs to ski at White Pass 3 times. We started going to White Pass this spring, and haven't regretted it a bit. Dave and Scott have been exceptional ski instructors for my daughter - she even went down her first black diamond this year. We purchased season tickets this spring, which will be good through next year, and it was truly a bargain. We also stayed across the street at the Village Inn for her spring break and had a fantastic time. White Pass has friendly staff, reasonable prices, a laid-back lodge, and free ski check during peak times. It has a nice daycare and the kids' ski lessons are very reasonably priced. We will definitely be driving the extra 20 minutes to get to White Pass versus Crystal in the coming seasons.

I used to think Crystal Mountain was the place to be, but I was all wrong. Sure, the terrain's massive, but everybody that works there has an attitude problem! Not to mention the price of a lift ticket! I know, I know... John needs to make his money back after forking over a few mil on the new Northway lift, but give me a break! I live in Olympia, so the two resorts are about the same distance from one another. I'll pick White Pass over Crystal each and every time! Can't beat White Pass's price, awesome terrain, good food and awesome people. Can't wait to go back.

I have been skiing at white pass for 13 years now and im still finding new hot spots. I mean at crystal, sure it's bigger but all of the runs are tightly packed together!!! At White we give you space to cater to your powder needs. I grew up here, i'm a local and i'm never switching mountains. There is sooo much variety here, and did i mention we have one of the steepest runs in the western united states? Try finding that at Crystal!

White Pass and Snoqualmie are the only resorts I have been to because my parents aren't into skiing and boarding like I am. But between those two I would definately choose White Pass. This small reesort has it all! Ya Snoqualmie is bigger and has a bigger and better park but the mountain doesn't offer as much as White Pass does. The terrain park is very nice considering the season of 06 was the first time they had a real one. This year (Season of 08) is probably gonna be the best year there is for it. There are triple jump lines of all sizes, 2 flat boxes, 2 C-boxes, 1 Rainbow box, 2 flat rails, an up/down rail, a down-flat rail, their trademark "The Battleship Box," and a new "fishook" box. Also, the guy in charge of it, Tyler Forman, is probably the coolest guy on the planet. He's open for any park suggestions anytime. Ok back to White Pass. There is everything here for a little mountain! It has tree runs, moguls, verts, begginner trails, and Olympic class trails. (and don't forget the terrain park) All in all this resort is a great resort for the whole family including guests, haha. The locals are incredibly nice and so is the crew. And did i mention the 5-star hotel on the other side of the street? Mhm! So come out here and ski anytime! Literally!

I've been riding White Pass since 1989. Though it's certainly not the largest of the Cascade Range resorts it's definately worth a visit. Everything you could want in a mountain can be found here. From high speed groomers to chutes to tight and technical tree lines. The staff is super friendly and laid back. Family oriented and inexpensive. In the past few years the staff has made great strides in creating a fun terrain park and halfpipe. Jumps not your style? Fresh turns can be found late into the afternoon. Hook up with a local and try to wipe the grin off your face.

I'm a season ticket holder/Saturday and Sunday Skier. This is a small friendly place. It has a varied terrain that can challenge an expert. Runs are not too long but they have steeps, bumps, tree's and groomed. Its a nicely run area. I have fun each time I go. Even though it's my local area I do not get bored with it. I've taken advaced lessons and my wife has taked intermediate lessons both were great.

White Pass is probably one of the best small ski places out there. 1500ft of vert is nothing to complain about. I went during the week, which offers cheaper lift tickets, by the way, and there were no lines. I mean literally you ski into the gate and directly get into the chair with no people in front of you! On the back side I was still able to make some fresh tracks at 1-2pm! On blue trails! The snow was good, too, even if it was tracked out. And the best part, the main lift, which is the only one you really need to ride anyway as it serves all the terrain, is a high speed detachable quad! How many small ski places have a high speed quad? None, they usually have a heartbreakly slow double or triple. Plus, you usually have to go to the big ski resorts to find good bump runs, but White Pass has some real moguls. It has a large tree area that if thinned out could provide some great tree skiing and make this the perfect smalll ski hill. If you like to challenge your self with more dense tree skiing than you can have it all, but I perfer it thinned out a little. Great variety and close distance to Yakima and Tri-Cities.
