Love the hill. With all the new runs open I am the only one on my favorite runs. The lift operators are always friendly. There are enough runs of all levels to keep the day fun no matter how tired I get.

Freindly lift staff, with short lift lines. The lodge can get crowded during lunch. Lift one is slow, but get to the top and switch to lift 4 or sunrise basin and you will get a lot of skiing in for the day. The runs this year were much better with the addition of new groomers(plus lots of new snow).

The 2007-8 ski season provided great snow conditions at 49. Usually, the staff exaggerates the snow depths misleadingly, but this year it was powder on powder each time I skied. The main lift is unreliable and slow, but the new quad and east basin is better and a makes your ticket price worth it. The lodge and bar are antiquated and understaffed during lunch hours and special events. I had a bad experience with their rental staff. A poor pair of skis would not be exchanged and my wife skied on a bad pair all day, which ruined her experience. Tree skiing is good and there are many hidden powder stashes. This resort is good for the intermediate skier. There was rarely a wait at the lifts all season and the chair operators are friendly and helpful. Ski the east basin or use the old chair 4 if you come to 49 to ski.
What a wonderful place 49degrees is. Friendly is an understatement and with 2000 plus acres it is easy to find yourself alone with your ski buddies cruising gorgeous glades and enjoying GODs creation. With the Mountain Hosts those new to 49 will be assured money is well spent even under inclement conditions. My wife skiied 40+ times here this past season and i shared with her quite a few myself. We rarely were skunked because of conditions and as i always say "the worst day up on 49degrees is better than the best day at work"! Looking forward to another stupendous year ahead. See ya on the hill!

I have skied every resort in Washington State over the years, and rank 49 Degrees North in my top 3. Plenty of well groomed terrain for skiers and boarders of all levels. This is a great place for kids and families. For the experts, the numerous glade runs are awesome...steep and deep. Because the mountain is north facing, the snow tends to be light and fluffy. I skied 49 at least 20 times this season and never failed to find untracked pow. The employees at 49 are friendly and helpful. The Mountain Hosts are awesome. I skied with a number of newbies this season and the Hosts were always around checking to make sure the newbies were OK and knew where they were going. The lodge is old and funky, and can get crowded on weekends, but serves it's purpose. The Boomtown Bar is a great place for apres ski. 49 is rarely crowded and lift lines are virtually non-existant. The only drawback to 49 is the interminable ride to the top on chairs #1 and #4. A high speed quad would make a world of difference. The new quad in the East Basin opened up several new runs for skiers of all levels, and allows you to ski the top of the mountain without having to make the long chair ride up from the base. If you're looking for the powder stashes, ski the glades off of chair #4. John Eminger has some exciting plans in the works to bring a new lodge and real estate development to 49 in the coming years. Ski 49...you won't regret the trip to Chewelah!

I am a new skier taking lessons at 49 degrees. I have been up 3 times since the end of November and each time I was very pleased with the conditions. Well maintained, staff are friendly, the chair lines move fast - instructors are great! Last weekend's conditions were the best so far!

Skied the first time there the week before X-mas. Caught a ton of new snow. Great in the AM...packed and concrete by mid-day...typical NW conditions complete with white-out visibility. Despite it all I loved the terrain....excellent tree skiing with lots of nice softer stashes to be found throughout the day. Would really like to go back again on a clear day to see what I was skiing in. Worth another trip back!!!

I live in Spokane, but will go where the snow is best. I was excited about 49N opening last weekend, but was disappointed to find conditions very poor & I left early. Why do you guys ALWAYS overestimate your conditions? I find it hard to trust the 49N snow reports, and I now go on verbal reports from returning skiers. Wish you would be more honest. Lyle

I have been skiing here for several years and love the terrain. It has many different routes. I love exploring new routes whether it's powdery, smooth and easy, or rough with a lot of jumps. I am very excited about the new lift! Thanks so much !!!!! Keep up the great work. :)
