its a nice mountain i love to ski there.the glades are the best ive ever skied.i love the single but i only get to ski there once a year because
most of my freinds can ski and snowboard and like me i like to snowboard too and one time we had to split up because of the ban. one of my friends dad once snowboarded there in 89 he said he had truoble with the single while unloading which unfortinatley caused the ban i understand how special the single is its one of my favrite chairs i wish there was a way to work out the ban

Friday, March 14 was our first day at MRG after having skied for 3 days at Lincoln Peak and Mt. Ellen. We had an excellent time. The resort has a very different character to it than Sugarbush, making it an excellent compliment to it's neighbouring mountains. Great glade skiing and bump runs. One of the most unique runs we have ever skied is Lower Antelope -- narrow an meandering -- a real treat! The staff are friendly. The base lodge has character, and then of course, there is the famous single chair. We've wanted to ski at MRG for years -- we were not disappointed.

Another excellent "turn back the clock" day. Whether they just got dumped on or the conditions are a little dicey, this is one fine skiing mountain. Sufficient intermediate terrain, both trails and glades, to warm up on or to keep the interest of those whose skill it challenges off the double chair. The single feeds some of the East's best natural snow covered trails and woods, with so much diversity, every run can be its own unique adventure. This mountain's meant to be experienced with a friend or friends (especially when exploring the vast treed terrain, with hidden frozen waterfalls and significant pitches). MRG is guaranteed to challenge one's skills while offering one a true taste of Vermont hospitality, reflected in their price, in their friendliness and in this mountain's ambience. This is one experience that's truly worth the effort.

Not a big place, but plenty there to keep one interested, just choose a different line down the same run and it will be a new experience. This is a mtn for those serious about skiing and not much else so don; go if you want to see glitz and glamor as this is the antithesis. Runs can be quite challenging as very little of the mtn is groomed and even less sees an snow making. Went on a Friday, absolutely no lines and there was a great Apres ski thing going on in their funky lounge/bar at the base with a live R&B band. Great place if you are serious about your skiing. Boarders need not apply.

Mad River is a REALLY cool place. Even when the snow isn't great it's worth the trip. And it's not outrageously expensive because it's not owned by a corporation. When the snow is good this place is AMAZING. I've gone when it's been awful snow, and i've been for 2 foot dumps and i've loved it every time. A really laid-back place for skiers who just want to ski (gapers need not come) and have a good time. Also, no snowboarders makes it all that much better.

A great mountain. Having both Sugarbush and Mad River Glen makes this Valley the best place in the East. The only problem is the long lines on the weekend when you want to get in more runs and no snowmaking when you have a rough start to the year like this one. The final day of the original single chair was a gas. Long live single chairs.

The best place for skiers. Natural snow, long runs, diverse terrain, and no snowboarders!

Best kept secret for skiers on the East Coast. (oops- should I be reviewing this place?) This place is a skiers' co-op so there is no snowboarders, and the lift ticket is cheap. Aside from the short racing run, It's basically two hills, and while there are plenty of beginner/intermediate runs on the right side, there are only advanced runs on the single chair, which is all of the hill on the left side. The runs on the single chair is narrow, no groomed runs, but long and seriously fun moguls and glades. There are lots of trails going through the trees so it's a lot of fun exploring all of the hill.
They usually get a lot of snow, and since no snowboarding, the snow stays on the hill. This place with fresh snow is probably the best on the East Coast. As they say at this place, "ski it if you can."
