Good:Staff is friendly and helpful. We had issues with the ski school, brought it to their attention and they corrected the problem with a refund. top to bottom good skiing. pcmr lift system may be one of the best w/ lots of high speed chairs. Good place if your children are 12 yrs and older.
Bad: there are too many out of control teenagers on snowboards. someone needs to address this issue.

Best to go on weekdays if possible. Park City is one of the most popular resorts in the world, so it can get jammed up when you add the weekend population of booming Salt Lake City Metro. The resort is huge and the ski-town itself is probably the most charming and well kept of any I've seen. You would have to look far and wide to find tacky 70's style ambiance, which is so prevalent in many ski area's in the U.S.

Good:
The Snow!! Gorgeous, fluffy powder everywhere. Nice, wide trails. Lots of variety to challenge every level. Pleasant base area and lodges with decent food & shopping. Lift lines moved along fairly well.
Needs improvement:
Town lift. It's a slooooow double with no footrest, so by the end of the ride (it felt like 20 mins) my foot was all cramped up from supporting the weight of my board. Also FYI it drops you at mid-level, not at PCMR base.
Parking: was completely full by 10AM on a Friday, even the paid valet lot. Just take the bus.
Lessons: I wanted to take the intermediate freeride clinic for boarders that's advertised on the web site. When I called, the operator had never heard of it, but told me I could sign up for a regular group lesson and assured me they would accommodate my ability level. Um, guess what, I got stuck in a group with folks who still had trouble linking turns. Total waste of $80 and an afternoon.

Don't go there on a snow day! I was there during a big storm a couple of Sundays ago, and was sad to learn that 4 lifts were open (including the beginner lift) - only the base lift was running at full speed. In the meantime, both Deer Valley and the Canyons were running near full capacity. The operators were pretty un-apologetic about the service. I understand that you don't give rain-checks on weather, but the mountain should communicate that they were running at 10% of normal service. Needless to say the lines were unbearable (1 run per hour).

Park City Rocks!! The snow is fantastic and the city is fun. Don't forget the Olympic Training Center and the nearby snowmobiling. Tap this.

Great place to ski with many lodgeing options. If you want try different area use Canyon Hop van service to get to the other canyons. Its only a few more dollars for the van ride and ticket. Alpine Ski Properties is a great place to rent from. They offer quality properties and great service.

When I was there before and after Christmas i found Park City awesome! The runs were great, the snow was decent when it wasnt even good for the area(but the snow is fantastic now from wut i've heard). For the begginer skiers/snowboarders it isnt as fun because it can be crowded and annoying on green and blue runs. However if you are a more advanced skier then over by motherloade lift the snow is great and the runs are great. Also if you go up jupiter, then you can find some great runs(dont go straight off the top or else you'll be swimming in 4-5 feet of powder unless you truly are an expert skier.

PCMR is great if your into park but for the more inexperienced skier it won't be nearly as much fun. The backcountry terrain isn't very good, unless your willing to hike, and if you are willing to hike I still feel it's not worth it. The park is the real defining characteristic of PCMR, it's incredible. The resort has the biggest half pipe in the U.S. and as far as I know, the world (they supposedly have one in Colorado now that is equal in size though). The boxes, rails and the park in general are what PCMR really takes pride in. However, beginning skiers will hate this resort. All the beginner runs are just the run-off's from the higher lifts and are usually packed with people. The expert runs (Jupiter and Mcconkey's) are decent but nothing extraordinary. The village is cool but they don't have enough parking to accommodate everyone on the weekends (Stay at the Marriott Mountainside, they've got an underground parking garage and it's a minute walk before you reach the ski runs). It's overall a fun, not extraordinary resort that really prides itself in one thing: Terrain Park. At this resort everything else takes a back seat to this sole attraction.

This was my second time ever skiing. This was my kind of skiing cuz the trails are quite long and they are very wide, so you can get used to the terrain and mechanics of skiing without getting in peoples way. We were there for 3 days and it snowed two out of the three we were on the mountain. I would highly recommend Park City Mountain Resort to everyone who loves skiing and I would definitely go back if given the chance.

Skiing at Park City right now and Salt Lake City resorts in general is the best in the world. Take it from a West Coaster,"the powder quality in Utah is in another league from the Sierra's". Don't worry about Sundance making the slopes too crowded. Most of the Hollywood crowd is not on the slopes. Downtown Salt Lake is very close, and you should be able to find great accomodations, if not right at the resort.
