I do not recommend going to Mont Tremblant to do the alpine ski because of the multiple problems with their chair's lifts.
This 2008 year the chair lifts had not been maintained well: 1 chair lift stopped for 6 hours and the people had been removed from these chairs on the ropes.
Another chair's lift stopped for 1.5h, fortunately, it had been repaired after 1.5h. The stuff said that this lift had the mechanical problems.
I think it is unacceptable to keep people so long on the chair’s lifts
Skied Tremblant over the Easter weekend. Lots of snow, cold temperatures, windy, and very little ice. The snow was great all three days, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We left Tuesday morning and hit snow north of Toronto,on our way back to Detroit. It was worth the 12 hour drive for the great conditions we had all three days. All the lifts were open all three days. The lift lines were longest on Saturday, around 20 minutes at the Gondola. So we started using the singles line and the wait was less than 5 minutes on Saturday afternoon. You can meet some intersting people that way. Sunday and Monday the lift lines were negligable. Ski down, and set down on the chair or Gon. I never waited more than five chairs on Sunday or Monday.
The package pricing for lift and loding was less than $125 US per person per day and they take the US dollar at par. Where the prices are high is food. Hard to eat lunch for lees than $10 and dinner for $30. Maybe food and drinks are how they make their money. We are going to take precooked food next time, and use the microwave in the room for breakfast and dinner. Check with your hotel for how your room is set up.The shuttle bus runs everywhere, so staying across the valley is not a terrible inconvienence, and you will have your own kitchen in any of the condos.

Forget about skiing on a weekend or holiday, unless you like skiing in traffic jams, and waiting in long lift lines. IntraWest packs the place with discounted hotel and lift packages. People everywhere, on the slopes, in the bars, and little ones under the age of 5 darting in and out. Forget it.
If you go: buy a mid-week package. The slopes and restaurants are uncrowded. It's no Whistler, Vail, or Aspen but mid-week you'll enjoy the place.
Bring your woolies it's cold in them there hills.

Good Mountain. The best I have been on on the east coast for certain. However, it is an expensive and deceptive mountain as well. We went for school break. We anticipated getting the buy 2 get 3 day deal they had going on. When we got there we were told that was only for Quebec students and not US students. The drinking age in many of the bars in the village was 21 which was fine for me, but not for many of the people I was with. The skiing was great in the mornings but it got pretty bumped up and really icy in the afternoons. Overall I felt like it was a pretty good mountain. I was dissapointed in the tree skiing though. I guess the good stuff can only be found out west. Snow fall was good while we were there but we were also told they had been getting more than normal. We drove a 18 hours to get there. I think next year I will just buy the plane ticket and head west.

Just got back from two days at Tremblant. The resort caters more to tourist $$ than locals. Even the great find of Le Trappeur which used to tolerate bag lunches when you bought a soup or a beer does not any longer. Make sure you bring lot's of $$$$$$ - there's lot's of great things to do and the village has a European flavour, but always at a price.

We visit the Tremblant area regularly. The skiing is excellent there but depending on when you go it can get very cold on the big mountain. We like to go up during President's Day weekend becasue the resorts in the US are usually packed at that time. The Village is great to visit but I do not like to stay there. It can be very noisy at night as the bars stay open till all hours. We found a great little boutique hotel on Trip Advisor called Chateau Beauvallon. It has great service and is located between Tremblant and Gray Rocks. Their valet will pick you up and drop you off right at the mountain. The area up there is great. I find that the people are extremely friendly everywhere we go. We also like the Tremblant area in the summer time. It's a little bit expensive now because of the Canadian and US dollars are at a state of parody but it is still a good value and a great place to visit.

Mont tremblant seems like a cross between Disney and lego and has the queues and prices to match - however staff in the hire shops lack that we are here to help you attitude. The queues lead to 90% in line and 10% on the piste. The resort owners add their own little tax on top of everything else and places like the Tapas completely rip you off with the smallest of portions (that is from a European). If you are planning a N America / Canada trip Tremblant is not the place.
This resort used to be a gem. Overbuilding by the developer, IntraWest has created long lift lines, and with the weak US dollar, it is no longer a bargain.
Still has long runs, with many options for all levels, but be prepared to open your wallet, on or off the mountain.
Staff is bilingual, friendly, and helpful. If you are renting equipment, and an intermediate level or higher, rent off the mountain. Equipment is adequate at best.
Just came back from four great days at Tremblant. The snow is the best I have ever skied there. Fresh powder every day, and the usually friendly staff, both on and off the hill. There is enough snow to ski in the glades and the steeps of the double blacks. The French Fries at the top of the mountain are the best in the world.
