Best weekend of the entire season with new snow plus manmade snow and the new lift is broken. I wish some news station would look into what is going on in our county parks. It is a real joke that they can't get our slopes open and keep them open. They made sure snow was in place for the town hall meeting when the county big shots were here but since then typical county garbage. It is time that the county looks into that their workers don't do on a daily basis that we pay for. It is a real joke what is happening there at our expense.

The slopes finally opened at Boyce. First weekend open, that said lift lines were long but the snow was great shape. They replaced the tow lift with a magic carpet, people mover type lift. This will certainly make it easier for beginners to get up the hill. They also added snow tubing replacing the trail far skiers right. As of Sunday January 27th 2008, the chair lift was only serving one trail. The other two trails really didn't have enough snow coverage yet. Boyce is a great learn to ski area and at a much more affordable rate, but more experienced riders will find Boyce very disappointing.

Will the county get OUR park open soon? Let's hope so. My last post was removed for whatever reason. Could it be Allegheny County not liking what is being said? The truth hurts. Let's go guy's, stop playing around and get the slopes open for so many of us to enjoy. Yes it has been a mild December but there have been windows to get it done. You have 72 hours of cold so let's see if you can do it for so many waiting residents.
Happy New Year

Boyce is a great place to learn how to ski or snowboard. You can't beat a place that has lift tickets for $10.00 I recommend families and those who are learning to check this place out. If you are looking for a place for fresh powder or difficult terrain you should head west...

I started at Boyce, and have been skiing for seven years now. Because Boyce closed down in the 2006 - 207, season. I went to seven springs all last year. That being said. I would have to agree with others in regards to how important it would be for my family, if Boyce was updated. Not to the likes of seven, but we could do a much better job, of keeping our local ski fans in the local area. I am not saying that I will stop going to Seven, but I am saying that if Boyce had more to offer in terms of slopes, I would without a doubt, get family passes for Boyce.
An if Sunny, or whom/what ever is that is holding this great local resort from becoming a much better place to enjoy for us local family of ski fans.

...YOU SUCK ROTTEN EASTER EGGS.
No No No the other reviews are crap. The reason boyce park is good is because it is cehap and that is why most people go. If you have so much money to throw around, just get a private jet and fly to seven springs. I am a pretty good skier and i still manage to have alot of fun at boyce.

I would have to agree with the previous writer. Why should I have to waste time, and money driving my family all the way to seven springs, or any other resort for that mater. When I could Spend that same money, and time here on our local slopes. It is truly time to improve, and move on.
In regards to Sonny. I do not know this person, or their position at our beloved, sad looking ski resort.
An if the counties goal is not to make money, that is fine. How about trying to make enough money to build a better ski resort for those that are willing to pay for an upgrade, rather than having travel so fair away to enjoy the great Pennsylvanian out doors.
If this is your fault Sonny. You suck... Now Please... fix our ski resort...

Typical Allegheny County stupidity this season. They have decided to do upgrades which is great but they started them in November. Figure that. Since they started I have watched these county clowns do little work. Drive around in their trucks from point A to B for no reason. Spend days working on projects that would take the private resort or business a few hours. I have never seen such waste in my life. I called them about giving free skiing away on Presidents Day to ask why would you give something away on a day when people will pay for the services and the response to me was............" we are not here to make money, we just want to break even". Only in goverment would you hear something so stupid. Allegheny County please get your heads out of your butts and clean up this true gem that is ours not yours to ruin like so many other things you have destroyed in the past. It is time to see Sonny (Park manager) go so this park will move forward. I hope others add to this so maybe some one in the county will take a hard look at what is going on in OUR park.
